Community Liaison Officers: Foot Soldiers of the BRP

The Bekkersdal Renewal Project (BRP) appointed six Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) in August 2007. “The CLOs are the foot soldiers of the Bekkersdal Renewal Project,” said David Molebatsi, the Chairman of the Bekkersdal Development Forum. “Their role is critical – they are responsible for ensuring overall liaison between the BRP and the community of Bekkersdal,” he said.

“We would like to congratulate the new CLOs and wish them well in their jobs,” said Tsepiso Moloi, BRP Project Manager for the Gauteng Department of Housing. She added that, “The CLOs will be helping to ensure effective communication to the community and community structures. They will be sharing information with Ward Councillors, BRP contractors and the community. They will also be reviewing ongoing challenges and will submit improvement proposals to the project implementation team”.
